Description
Wrap up warm and come for a walk along the Cardrona and Clutha Rivers and learn how to identify, harvest and work with local wild plants as food and medicine.
During the walk we will cover:
- The abundance of local wild plants and fungi that are available to forage in the Wanaka area, even in the middle of winter.
- The fundamentals of foraging/wildcrafting and how to respectfully harvest, store and preserve wild plants and fungi.
- The nutritional and medicinal attributes of each plant or fungi that we find on our walk.
- In July it is mostly all about fungi and the evergreens, but there is still a surprising amount of wild greens to be found too.
